We hope you’ve had a spooktastic Halloween this year, we certainty have. Thank you to everyone who popped into the practice to see our fun decorations.
Remember to keep your teeth looking boo-tiful this Halloween. Here are some of our helpful tips:
1. Did you know that saliva production increases during meals. Every time we eat or drink anything sugary, teeth are under attack for up to one hour. Saliva plays a major role in neutralising acid in the mouth. If sweets are constantly being eaten, the mouth is constantly under attack and does not have the chance to recover. So keep sweets to mealtimes only to reduce the amount of time teeth are exposed to them.
2. Drink more water and try to avoid sugary drinks. Drinking water can help wash the sugars left behind from your mouth.
3. Try to avoid sticky sweets, as they take longer to be washed away by saliva.
4. Treat your teeth this Halloween and give sugar the cold shoulder. Here are some super sugar free alternatives: Spooky stickers, bubbles, fruit fingers, vampire teeth or glow sticks
